Poison Clouds!

Noxious compounds billowing from the depths of the Marum crater put expedition member Chris Heinleins gas mask to the test. At times the gases were so strong the filters let some through, he says. When I saw those clouds moving in, it was hard to keep cool.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR COMMENTS:
The acid gases were attacking the camera lens and coating the camera. The surface of the lens was destroyed, creating poor optics.
