Naked Against the Cold
Photograph by Richard Olsenius

Glimpse a naked stand of trees beside a snowy field and you can hear the wind, feel the cold, sense the isolation of a long midwestern winter. Despite its bleakness the winter prairie appeals to photographer Richard Olsenius. “I guess it’s the dark, Swedish, brooding side of me,” says the Minnesota native.
