Just Like Real Life
Photograph by Maria Stenzel

“Tom Selleck” is taxidermist Charlie Livingston’s code for “none of your business.” “When people ask me where an animal came from, I say, ‘Don’t ask me, ask Tom Selleck.’ Hunters here hold these things close to their breast.”

Camera: Nikon F100
Film Type: Fujichrome Velvia
Lens: 24-50mm
Speed and F-Stop: Not recorded
Weather Conditions: Warm inside
Time of Day: Night
Lighting Techniques: Turned off the fluorescent lights in the room. Used light bulbs and silver work lights I bought at the hardware store. Maybe a little fill flash.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR COMMENTS:
Most times fluorescent light is ugly; it will turn your film a greenish cast. You can use fill flash to light somebody close to you, but the rest of the room will have a different color cast. Or you can start from scratch and light the room, as, I think, I did.
