Peeking Out of the Flower Pot

A member of a “fancy” club peers out from the blossoms of a 1914 parade entry named “Flowers of the City.” As costumes became more elaborate, some Mummers groups started calling themselves fancy clubs, creating the parade’s second division, which marches behind the comics.
