Archaeologist John Kembel goes headfirst into history—with a little help from field assistant and team photographer Carlos Rodriguez—to glimpse the inside of the Gallery of the Waterspout. One of 26 known galleries or internal passageways at the ceremonial site of Chavín de Huántar, it was discovered, documented, and mapped using new technology developed by the Stanford University team.
