Rebar Reborn
Photograph by Chris Johns

An old woman from Den/ui village in northeastern Namibia turns rebar to a new use, shouldering a length of the steel and setting off for the bush to dig up roots and tubers. Many Bushmen still gather food, but few can survive on what they find, since there is not enough land for them to roam.
