Truck drivers are “pretty cool,” says Arlene Long, shining the boots of Bob Davidson from Hyrum, Utah. “But after a hard day on the road,” she adds, “some get cranky.” To help drivers unwind, Long and other staffers act as valets, assisting truckers with laundry and dry cleaning, taking messages, arranging showers, and stocking the movie room with the latest videos.
