With homeowner’s pride Troy Greenwald fertilizes his meticulously maintained lawn on Breckenwood Drive. “I take care of it myself,” says Greenwald, who moved to Cary in 1976 when the population was only 17,500, as opposed to nearly 100,000 today. The increase in lawns led to permanent watering restrictions in 2000. Greenwald can now water his lawn only three days a week.
