Its lights aglow at dusk like the skyline behind it, one of Chicago's elevated trains (the L) heads toward the station at Diversey, one of three stops in the trendy Lincoln Park neighborhood. Almost 13 million customers rode the Brown line alone in 2000. There are plans to extend platforms and add cars to trains to accommodate the area's unprecedented growth.
