Love Among the Ruins
Photograph by Tim Laman

Amid a cacophony of mating calls, a pair of tree frogs perpetuates their unnamed species. First spotted in a small patch of rain forest near one of Mindanao’s largest cities, this species might have to wait a while for a name. “This is just one of two dozen species of frogs we have discovered in the past few years,” says Rafe Brown, a herpetologist from the University of Texas. “So far we have not had the time to name them.”
