Showered in Flowers Photograph by Jonathan Blair
An antique vegetable delivery truck participates in the yearly Battle of Flowers on the British island of Jersey near the northwest coast of France. One of the worlds oldest and perhaps strangest float parades, the Battle first took place in 1902. Dressed in all manner of flowers, vegetables, and even bread loaves, the floats fall victim to competing parishes who destroy each others floats in a ritual battle at parades end. |
