Darkness falls, but commerce continues along Washington, D.C.’s Maine Avenue Fish Wharf, what many claim to be the oldest ongoing fish market in the country. Friday evenings are especially busy, when residents of the nation’s capital put the week’s work behind them and turn to the important business of selecting a catch for dinner.
