Altered Space Photograph by Brian Strauss
In St. Pauls cemetery, debris from the World Trade Center attacks transformed trees, like this more than 150-year-old sycamore tree, into stumps and splinters on September 11. Although the towers once consumed the space and skyline (click up) bordering the graveyard (click left, right), 16 acres (6.5 hectares) of emptiness have now taken their place. |
