Her Little Secret This elegant Constantinople lady just might not be a lady. In the early 1900s, Islamic tradition discouraged Turkeys Muslim women from being seen by men who werent their husbands. So photographers sometimes asked men to pose dressed as women for such novelties as exotic postcards.
