A whirlybird's-eye view of the town: 1.4 square miles (2.2 square kilometers) of campus-like grounds and neighborhood streets edged with cornfields, then highways. Omaha is just around the corner, but Boys Town is a world apart. "Many kids look back and say this is where their lives started," says executive director Father Val Peter. "That's how important this town is."
