That Sinking Feeling

Screw up on the edge of Tawi Attair, and it's a long way downand getting longer all the time. Almost 690 feet (210 meters) deep, Tawi Attair is a sinkhole, which means caves directly beneath the floor of this pit keep collapsing, deepening the holeand raising the risks. "When you climb here," says Louise Hose (above) "you have to watch for loose rocks falling on your head."
