Energetic ladies of the Oak Bluffs Polar Bears begin summer mornings with leg lifts and hip twists in chilly water. Gentlemen come, too, to swim laps and swap tales. A summertime tradition here for more than 50 years, the morning gathering is as much a social event as an athletic one.
