Red Necks

Bloody from battle, male elephant seals honk, sputter, wrestle, and bite as they grapple for the right to mate with hordes of females grouped into harems on shore. Recent DNA studies show that when it comes to mating, these animals aren't just fighters but travelers as well, ranging as far as 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometers) through icy waters to reach harem-filled beaches.
