Boxed In
Photograph by Gordon Wiltsie

Loaded in a crate atop a camel's back, 88-year-old Dashingaa waits for the week-long journey to begin. She's one of many who are too old, young, or sick to make the trip by foot or horseback; like the rest she will take her chances against the elements. The rough terrain and sub-zero temperatures can be deadly.
