Living Above the Clouds

Weaving wool helps support the Saccas, one of only two families who live at Qoriwayrachina. Surviving here, an arduous hike from the nearest village, demands self-sufficiency. The families raise pigs and cows, grow potatoes and corn—and now guard the remains of the high-altitude community constructed by their Andean ancestors.
