Genie Da Lomba, 13, waits to jump in and join her cousin, Michelle Rosa, skipping rope in the street outside their home. The house's three floors hold three generations of their family. "We're 13 people and we do everything together," says Genie. "We go to buffets together, parks together, movies...." Michelle says not only within households but across families Cape Verdeans in Pawtucket bond: "To me Cape Verdean means someone who can get along with anyone."
