The sun gleams over the icy landscape at one of the adventurers' first campsites on the Southern Patagonian Ice Field plateau. Wind, snow, and icy fog made Ousland and photographer Thomas Ulrich feel as if they were at the very limit of where humans can survive, Ousland said.
