Slippery Slope

Ousland lowers one of their kayaks down the slope of a 7,700-foot (2,350-meter) peak. When full of equipment, the kayaks weighed approximately 200 pounds (90 kilograms) each. Bad weather made this part of the journey extremely difficult. Their reward on rough days: an extra bag of chocolate to share.
