Credited with creating the burgeoning "energy drink" market, Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz started distributing Red Bull in Austria in 1987. Now the highly caffeinated, intensely sweetened potion in its sleek silver and blue can sells in more than a hundred countries worldwide, and Mateschitz's 49 percent share of the Red Bull phenomenon has made him a billionaire.
