Little Hominin, Big Discovery
|
The tiny skeleton called Hobbit was discovered during a three-month excavation inside Liang Bua, a cave located on the Indonesian island of Flores. Scientists believe it may represent a new human species, Homo floresiensis, The species existed alongside modern humans as recently as 13,000 years ago, yet may descend from Homo erectus, which arose some two million years ago.
