Let's Make a Deal Photograph by Lynn Johnson
Displayed on a motel bed, the arm and leg of a dinosaur is up for sale in Tucson, where an annual trade show lures thousands of fossil enthusiasts who set up shop wherever they can. The fossil business—which may be worth tens of millions of dollars each year—has grown partly due to the popular fascination with dinosaurs, and partly because some very wealthy collectors would rather decorate their homes with the remains of prehistoric beasts than with, say, a masterpiece by Matisse.
