Q: Why do you live at East Wind?
A: I was never an idealist. I just like to work.

A: I don't do chutney anymore.

A: It would destroy the community. A lack of money provides the discipline to share.

A: Thoreau once wrote that a person is rich in proportion to those things he can leave alone.
Q: If you were to give East Wind a new name, what might it be?
A: I hope it wouldn't be the Doldrums.
