Hunting on Thin Ice
|
During the hunters' journey thin sea ice foiled several attempts to reach the ice edge—a nutrient-rich biological zone where animals come to feed, including seals, walruses, and polar bears. Scientists say global warming is contributing to the disappearing ice. If trends continue, the Arctic Ocean could be ice free each summer by the end of the century.
