Black Hole Wilderness

On New Britain island, part of Papua New Guinea, a massive sinkhole called Minye yawns across the rain forest. New Britain's sinkholes, also called dolines, are among the largest in the world, often leading down to massive caves. In January 2006 a team of 12 cavers from Britain, France, and the United States traveled to the island to descend into Ora, one of the island's largest sinkholes, and probe the cave passing through it.
