Last year's devastating hurricanes—especially Katrina and Wilma—battered the Flamingo Lodge and Marina at Everglades National Park so badly that the buildings will have to be destroyed. As the 2006 hurricane season began, only day-use services had been restored in this part of the Everglades. When will overnight visitors be welcome here again? No date has been set.
