Everybody's Baby

She was only three years old when she died 3.3 million years ago, but the Dikika baby—named for a hill near the site of her discovery in Ethiopia's rift valley—has much to tell us. Ethiopian scientist Zeresenay Alemseged, who led the team that found her, explains where she fits into our human story and what we can learn from her.
