Discovered by Beverly and Dereck Joubert just a few days after her birth, the leopard Legadema spent the first few years of her life among the thick groves of ebony and acacia trees at Mombo, part of the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana's Okavango Delta. Now four years old and raising young, she has established her own territory within the reserve, where she and her offspring are safe from harm by humans.
