Highly social creatures, walruses congregate on a rocky islet in Canada’s Foxe Basin. The huge animals clump themselves together in the frigid Arctic air. Fighting for territory within the group can be fierce. When a polar bear attacks, spots near the edge offer quicker access to the relative safety of the water.
