National Geographic Mailing Update
We want to assure you that we have no reason to feel that our mail is at risk.
It is true that the Washington, D.C., post office has been in the news in the past few days. However, none of our bulk mailings originates in Washington, D.C, even though we use our Washington, D.C., headquarters return address on the envelopes and wrappers. For your review we have provided views of the outside of our promotional envelopes.
In the United States National Geographic magazine is printed and shipped from Corinth, Mississippi, not Washington, D.C. Likewise, our U.S. promotional and membership mailings do not originate in Washington, D.C, but are mailed through approved bulk mail facilities in the Tampa, Chicago, and Pittsburgh areas. Bulk business mailings are inserted by machine in a controlled, supervised environment.
There are of course many unanswered questions about recent events, but we have heard nothing to indicate that you should have any concern about these letters or National Geographic magazine.
We appreciate your interest in and support of the National Geographic.
