Lake Bogoria Lovebirds Light Painting with Geyser and Flamingos

Lake Bogoria in Kenya’s Northern Rift Valley is a place of extreme volcanic beauty. Geysers and sulfur rich hot springs bubble in the hyper-saline lake and hundreds of thousands of lesser flamingos come to feed on cyanobacteria. Although a popular destination for tourists and school trips during the day very few people choose to remain in the park at night. I set the camera for a long exposure to capture this self-portrait of two lovebirds (my wife & I) light painting in the moonlight with a small group of flamingos keeping warm near a geyser in the background.
