Each year the Qamanirjuaq caribou herd, hundreds of thousands strong, migrates through the Kivaliq region of Nunavut, Canada. A crucial source of both food and clothing for Inuit people in the region, the herd also attracts wealthy sport hunters from afar. Paying top dollar for a guided hunt, they come in search of wilderness and high scoring trophy animals. Peter, a hunting guide from the Hamlet of Arviat prepares to butcher a bull near Baralzon Lake. The hide and antlers will be shipped to the hunter, a woman from Florida, while most of the meat will be given to elders and widows in Arviat.
