The Great Wall in the Snow

We were visiting China in early March, 2010. The day we were scheduled to visit the Great Wall, we got 6-8 inches of snow. Cars could not get all the way to the parking lot, so we had to walk the last 1/2 mile. Once we reached the Wall we realized that our experience there was going to be totally different than the experience most tourists have. Very few people were visiting the wall and the snow blanketed the wall with a peaceful silence. It was slippery and we were drenched and we'll never forget that day.
