The Hospital on the Foothills of the Himalayas

Humla, one of the most remote and unspoiled and poorest areas of Nepal lies beneath the northwestern region of the Himalayas. Access to the region is gained only by a small airstrip or by foot. People of this area face many medical difficulties, and many die due to the lack of accessible medical care. In 2004, the Dr. Christopher Barley hospital was established by Citta USA and the only local doctor in the region, Dr. Yeshe. Since then, they have treated over 30,000 patients with the majority being women and children. It is a little miracle facility in the middle of nowhere.
