One Big Wish

In the Northeast, one might guess this was a dandelion’s final moments of glory, but this monster was no dandelion. It was about 5 inches in diameter with the longest, softest, shiniest fuzz I’ve ever seen! It was so big that, as I got closer, I discovered the delicate crisscrossed structure of the bulb and its beautifully complicated inner-workings – something I never noticed in all my years of making wishes! And how is it that this perfect specimen escaped the breeze that so thoroughly stripped it’s neighbor bare?
