When the Paris Metro workers went on strike at a predetermined time, there were no ifs and or buts about it. The train stopped suddenly between stations. After waiting for a bit and puzzling over what was going on, all of us that were aboard the train had to hop out and walk to the next station. Not ideal for getting from one place to the next perhaps, but certainly it counts as a rare chance to see the Metro at a slow pace. It was a bit spooky to be waking around down there though.
