The Spirit of the Great Lakes

When there's only ice and snow on the beach, white sand and palm trees nowhere to be found, it's hard not to awake from the tropical paradise surf dream we hold in our minds living in the MidWest. Ice is always abundant throughout the winter months near the Great Lakes. However this doesn't stop those with the passion and spirit to conquer the water at some of their greatest times. This moment was the accumulation of a couple hours surfing in Lake Michigan. After climbing over an ice shelf that had built up by the crashing waves, Brad Tunis made it safely out of the water, stoked as can be.
