The Mary Feature in East Timor, so called due to the monument to the Virgin Mary on top of a remote mountain in Timor Leste. The mountain is just under 10,000ft above sea level with no vehicle access, however the statue is well visited and still treated as a shrine. The morning I went up, it was 32 degrees celsius at sea level at Dili Airport, and 4 degrees once we reached the summit by helicopter. The statue and monument was brought to the top of the mountain by hand and built in site.
