Each year during Sept/Oct in the Central Australian Outback, several remote aboriginal communities play host to a series of Horse Races. There are two types of horse,"Stockhorse" and "Racehorse". Most are caught as wild brumbies a number of weeks before the first race, broken-in and trained for the event. The condition of the horses this year is exceptional due to unseasonal rains across the central Australian Deserts. It made for an Exciting weekend at the Santa Teresa Races. The Races are little known outside the web of communities involved and uphold a proud Tradition of horsemanship.

Location: Santa Teresa Aboringinal Community, Northern Territory, Central Australia
