A beautiful dawn up in the hills

Sunrises are typically not as colourful as sunsets - but I was in for a treat one fine morning in Himachal Pradesh. This was shot in Oct 2010 from a small village close to Kulu, about half an hour before sunrise - the splash of colours with an orange-red tint was amazing. It was freezing cold but rushed out to take this photo, my attempt to capture and treasure a truly surreal moment.
