The heat in Vietnam can easily boil the mercury on a hot summer afternoon. While walking the streets of the Old Town, Hoi An, I came across this lowly street mechant just reading the paper, slowly burning a cigarette, under the shadow of an ancient bamboo awning. The contrast of dark and light and the intense yellow concrete walls, intensify the feel of the sun's power on this side of the globe, and speaks to the layers of daily life found on the streets of Vietnam. - Justin Kitrosser
