February 2011 The building from where this picture is taken was high enough to provide safety for some lucky few in the surrounding neighbourghood. It used to be a housingarea in Banda Ache suburbia. Then 2006 came the tsunami. According to Harry, my local guide, the wave came in 20 meters tall, 10 kilometers inland. Over 70 000 people died. Every house in the picture is newly built or still under construction.
