On May 1, 2011, The West Point Drill Team does its amazing demonstration of skill and timing in Dobbs Ferry, NY. That night, the world learned about the end of Osama bin Laden, and the news was greeted at West Point (as elsewhere) with joyful celebration and chants of "USA!". At the cadets' urging, the Supervisor came out on his front porch to make a brief speech. He said that he loved their spirit on this historic night, adding that they were not celebrating a death, but rather honoring the service and sacrifices of their comrades in the field, whom they will soon be privileged to lead.
