Inside the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow-- made famous by Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and built over 300 years ago-- this boy waits on the stairs in the entryway for his mother to take him home. Outside this church is Sleepy Hollow Graveyard, where the Headless Horseman, the galloping ghost of a Hessian soldier, chased a terrified Ichabod Crane, and where the story's author, Washington Irving, is buried.
Location: Sleepy Hollow, NY
