I waded knee-deep into the chilly mountain waters of Rattlesnake Lake for this photograph. This recreational lake located outside North Bend, Washington was created after the town of Moncton was slowly flooded by an upstream dam in 1915. It is known today for its beautiful green-blue waters and the many large distinctive tree stumps that align its shore.
