The Mwanza Flat-headed Rock Agama (Agama mwanzae) is a species of lizard from the Agamidae family found in Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya. The male's head, neck and shoulders are bright red or violet, while the body is dark dark blue. The females are mostly plain brown. They are often seen basking on rocks in the heat of the day, and make for quite a striking sight. Their primary diet consists of insects or other smaller reptiles. They are lately becoming popular pets among comic book fans due to their colouration bearing an uncanny resemblance to Marvel comics' fictional hero Spider-man.
